Times Table Quiz
The Times Table Quiz is a free multiplication practice game. Pick any table
from 2 to 12, choose how many questions you want (10, 20, or 30), and start
answering. Each question presents a multiplication like 7 × 8 = ?
with four answer options. You get instant feedback on each answer, and your
streak and accuracy are tracked across the round.
How It Works
- Choose a multiplication table. Each round covers factors 1 through 12 for your chosen table.
- Select 10, 20, or 30 questions depending on how long you want to play.
- For each question, tap one of four answer options. You can also use keyboard keys 1-4.
- Correct answers build your streak. Wrong answers reset it.
- At the end, see your accuracy and longest streak.
Why Practice Times Tables
Multiplication fluency is the foundation for fractions, division, algebra, and most higher-level math. Students who know their times tables by heart free up working memory for harder problems. The quiz format turns rote memorization into a quick, repeatable challenge. Playing a few rounds every day builds automaticity faster than worksheets alone.
Tips for Learning Times Tables
- Start with the 2, 5, and 10 tables. They have clear patterns that build confidence.
- The 9 table has a finger trick: hold down the nth finger to read the answer.
- The 11 table doubles the digit for 11 through 99 (11 × 4 = 44, 11 × 7 = 77).
- The 7 and 8 tables are the hardest. Do short rounds of 10 questions to drill them.
- Use the streak counter as a goal. Try to get a perfect 10-streak on your chosen table.
Using This Quiz in the Classroom
Teachers can use the Times Table Quiz as a warm-up activity, a homework alternative, or a quick assessment. Students choose their own table, so each learner works at their level. The 10-question option takes about two minutes, making it practical for transitions or early-finisher activities.
