Number Duel Game Mode
Division Duel
Division Duel is a Number Duel mode built around division. Each player keeps one active number from 2 to 12. The larger number is divided by the smaller, and the integer quotient becomes the target for the turn. Players then claim matching cells on a 5×5 board and race to connect four in a row.
How It Works
- Choose your active number from the number rack (2 through 12).
- Divide the larger active number by the smaller. The integer quotient is the target.
- Claim an open board cell that shows the matching target value.
- Connect four claimed cells horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to win.
Because the quotient is always the larger divided by the smaller, the target is always a positive integer. When both players pick the same number, the target is 1 — a common tactical situation that limits available cells dramatically.
Example Turn
Your opponent's active number is 12. You choose 3. The target becomes 12 ÷ 3 = 4. Every open cell with the value 4 lights up. You claim one that extends your vertical line. On the next turn, the opponent might switch to 6, making the new target max(6, 3) ÷ min(6, 3) = 2.
Division Duel Strategy Tips
Division Duel has the narrowest target range of all Number Duel modes (typically 1 through 6). This means board positioning matters even more, as many number combinations map to the same small set of target values.
- Match the opponent's number. Same numbers produce a target of 1, severely limiting cells.
- Spread your claims. With fewer unique targets, diversifying cell positions helps create forks.
- Control multiples. Cells with value 1 appear frequently — claim them early for board coverage.
- Block aggressively. The narrow target range means blocking is especially effective.
Ways to Play
- Bot Match: play against the computer for quick practice.
- Friend Room: share a link and play a real-time 1v1 match with a friend.
- Daily Duel: play the same fixed board as everyone else and compare results.
Other Number Duel Modes
Division Duel uses division. Sum Duel uses addition. Product Duel uses multiplication. Subtraction Duel uses subtraction. Fifteen Duel drops the number rack entirely. All modes share the same tactical spirit: the math creates the moves, but the board control decides who wins.
