Number Duel Games
Nerdle
Nerdle is a daily math equation guessing game. Each day brings a new hidden
8-character equation like 12+34=46 or 9*12=108. You
have six guesses to crack it. After each guess, every character gets color
feedback: green means the right character in the right spot, amber means the
character is in the equation but somewhere else, and gray means it is not in
the equation at all.
How Nerdle Works
- Every guess must be a valid 8-character equation. For example,
48-13=35or7*15=105. - Use digits 0-9 and the operators +, -, *, /, and = to build your equation.
- Both sides of the equals sign must evaluate to the same number. Division must produce whole numbers.
- After you submit, each tile flips to reveal feedback for that position.
- Solve the equation within six guesses to win.
What Makes a Valid Equation
Every Nerdle equation is exactly eight characters long and contains exactly one
equals sign. The left side is an arithmetic expression using addition,
subtraction, multiplication, or division. The right side is the result.
Multiplication uses the standard order of operations, so 2+3*4
equals 14, not 20. Division must divide evenly with no remainder.
Nerdle Strategy Tips
- Start with an equation that uses many different characters to gather information fast.
- Pay attention to operator positions early. If the equals sign turns green, you know exactly where it sits.
- Remember operator precedence. Multiplication and division happen before addition and subtraction.
- Use the on-screen keyboard feedback. Characters you have already ruled out appear in gray.
- If a digit turns amber, it is in the equation but not where you placed it. Try repositioning it.
Who Is Nerdle For?
Nerdle works well for anyone who enjoys logic puzzles and mental arithmetic. Kids practice math facts in a game format that rewards reasoning over speed. Adults get a quick daily brain teaser that takes two to five minutes. Teachers can use it as a warm-up activity since the equations reinforce order of operations and arithmetic fluency.
