Dot Sense

Dot Sense is built for younger children who are still learning to see quantity. The game shows dots in small groups, then asks children to name the total. The important skill is subitizing: seeing a small amount or a structured group without counting every dot.

Dot Sense Learning Focus

Children practice grouping, part-whole thinking, and early addition. Seeing 2 and 3 as 5, or 5 and 5 as 10, prepares them for number bonds and mental math.

How to Use It

Ask children what groups they saw before they answer. A good explanation might be: I saw three and four, so it is seven.
